How
A native iPhone app, in SwiftUI on top of MapKit, with three ways of reading the map.
On foot: IGN maps, waymarked trails, 3D terrain, elevation gain, arrival time from the current pace. At sea: heading and speed in knots, the buoyage of the French coast, man overboard, anchor alarm. In the air: audio variometer, height above ground, wind measured while circling, landing fields within reach, airspace from the SIA (the French aeronautical information service) with an alert on approach.
Every outing is recorded, screen locked included: a GPX on foot and at sea, an IGC in flight. The app also opens GPX files and routes from the Health app, and a flight can be sent to Ascend for analysis. Before setting off, you download an area (IGN Plan, aerial photos, terrain) and offline mode then sends no request at all.
No account, no ads, no analytics: everything stays on the phone. One-time purchase, no subscription. The app is not on the App Store yet.
