Why
Before flying I always read the same figures: wind aloft, shear, CAPE, height of the convective layer. I had to look for them on several sites. I wanted one screen, with my thresholds.
How
The server downloads the AROME and ARPEGE forecasts from Météo-France and reads the points straight out of the files. Each indicator returns a value, a threshold and a state. The verdict for the hour is the worst of the states, not their average: one veto is enough. Two separate regimes, thermal and soaring, because they are not the same way of flying.
