About
Who I am
I’m Raphaël. I’ve lived near Grenoble since September 2026; before that, several years in Douarnenez, in Brittany. Master’s in maths, but the open-plan office wasn’t for me.
Since then, my life has organised itself around two things: teaching and being outside.
On the teaching side, I give private maths lessons at sixth-form and preparatory class level. The approach is straightforward: find what’s actually blocking the student, build exercises that target precisely that, and address their relationship with maths before anything else. A student who believes they’re “bad at maths” won’t learn much until that changes. I also write clean documents for my students, because presentation matters.
Outdoors, paragliding takes up the most room — this is my first season flying from Grenoble. I sail, climb and walk. In 2024 I crossed the Pyrenees solo on the HRP: 34 days, Atlantic to Mediterranean. And sometimes I dance at Breton folk festivals.

This site
The site is built with SvelteKit, the content is written in Markdown, and it’s hosted on Vercel. The photos are mine. The watercolour illustrations come from Dall-E.
The code I write with Claude: I describe what I want, I read it back, I fix it. A good part of what you see was typed by the machine.
You just lost The Game.
