Why
I had a blog filed by date. What interests me does not file only by date: a crossing, a tool, a piece of maths get read again years later, and chronological order helps nobody find them. I wanted a field notebook.
How
SvelteKit and MDsvex: pages are Markdown files that accept Svelte components, which lets me drop a simulation or a map into the middle of a text without leaving the file. GPS traces are served as GeoJSON and drawn with MapLibre. Photos are read at build time to pull out the EXIF data — ISO, exposure, date, position. French and English live side by side. Hosted on Vercel. The details of how it is made are in the “This site” section.
