I’m Raphaël, based in Brittany. Master’s in maths, but the open-plan office wasn’t for me.
Since then, my life has organised itself around two things: teaching and being outside.
On the teaching side, I give private maths lessons at sixth-form and preparatory class level. The approach is straightforward: find what’s actually blocking the student, build exercises that target precisely that, and address their relationship with maths before anything else. A student who believes they’re “bad at maths” won’t learn much until that changes. I also write clean documents for my students, because presentation matters.
On the outdoor side, I walked the Pyrenees solo on the HRP — 34 days, Atlantic to Mediterranean. I paraglide, sail, climb, and hike. And sometimes I dance at Breton folk festivals.
I work with students in their final years of school and in university preparatory classes, in person around Douarnenez. If you’re looking for a maths tutor: cours.rkan.org or cours@rkan.org.
A few tools I’ve built — see the projects page.
